It’s Day 8 of Speedier Reads book reviews from Faster Ideas.
Today - John Berger's Ways of Seeing.
This book had such a profound impact on my 16-year-old mind (thanks to my art teacher, the late Mr Harrup, for recommending!) in terms of the way we perceive art, photography and all kinds of imagery.
Nearly 50 years since it was first published, it’s still a great little book.
There are some clips from the 1972 BBC series this book was based on - presented by John - on the BBC website.
Plus there’s a great documentary about John Berger on BBC iPlayer (until Sat 19/12/20) called The Art of Looking - if you needed any more convincing!
